Refreshing Waters Worship Center began its first meeting in a home Bible Study in February 1999 with just a handful of people. On July 4, 1999 we moved from the home group to our first location at the Robandee Shopping Center in South Kansas City in 5500 square ft. corner of the mall, affectionately called “the cave.” After many wonderful services and continued growth, through the leading of the pastors, plans were drawn up for a new church facility.
In 2005, the church purchased land for the building of a new church at Raytown and Bannister Road in Southeast Kansas City, near Lees Summit, Missouri. After several years of planning, conceptual developments and savings, a new multi-use facility was built which houses an enlarged space for worship, classrooms, youth ministry, offices and multi-purpose fellowship space. On December 14, 2008, we moved into our new location and held our first worship service.
As a relatively new ministry in Kansas City, its discovery by many in the city is becoming more known. Refreshing Waters is a non-traditional, non-denomination ministry. Each service is centered on Christ through our expression in worship, prayer, vibrant praise and bible-based practical teaching. It is out of our love and passion for Jesus that we enter into his presence and experience the release of His power for daily living. We have a contemporary worship service with anointed music and singing.
